FEE FOR TAKING ONLINE COURSE

The student will be charged a fee of $24.95, and this needs to be paid prior to taking the course online. There are no hidden fees and the fee for the course will not change after the student registers for the course and accepts these terms and conditions. A duplicate or reprint of a certificate of completion will cost $15.00. Methods of payment accepted are PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

ELIGIBILITY

A licensed, New York motorist may complete an Internet Point and Insurance Reduction Program (IPIRP) in compliance with New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law Section 215(a), 399-1 and 399-n and Section 2336 of the Insurance Law.

Upon completing this course, and if you are the principal operator of a motor vehicle, you may receive a minimum 10% reduction in the base rate of your automobile and motorcycle liability and collision insurance premiums each year for three years. You may be eligible to reduce as many as four (4) points on your driving record. The DMV computer will automatically note your eligibility to receive the reduction.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

The student needs to have JavaScript enabled on their browser. Most common internet browsers such as Google, Edge, DuckDuckGo, Safari, and Firefox already have these enabled. If the student has disabled this on their computer, it is up to them to enable their browsers in order to take the course. This course will be taken 100% online, so you need to make sure that you have sufficient bandwidth to be able to watch the videos. The basic level would be a minimum of 25 Mbps for WiFi.

COURSE SCHEDULE

NYDDC LLC, DBA Defensive Driver's Discount (DDD), offers a course that has 7 sections with a 4-question quiz at the end of each section. The student must pass a minimum of 3 out of 4 questions of each quiz correctly in order to move on with the course. This course will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The minimum time allowed by NY law to complete this course is 320 minutes and it must be completed within 30 days of registration per the NY State DMV rules and regulations. A printable version of Key Points will be available for you to have for reference during the course.

COMPLETION AND CERTIFICATE POLICY

You agree to complete all reading material and quizzes yourself, in addition to watching all the videos presented within the module. DDD is prohibited from issuing a certificate of completion if you have not met all the requirements for the course. Once you have completed the course, you should receive your official completion certificate within 14 business days.

AUTHENTICATION AND VALIDATION

DDD has included 4 different methods to validate the student. The 1st authentication is through an email verification code. When signing up for the course the student will be asked to enter their email address. A verification code will be sent to that email address and the student will be required to enter a 4-digit code on the DDD website to complete their registration.

The 2nd authentication is a typing biometric system. You will be a requirement to type the name you registered with and the email that was just verified in previous answer. After two (2) failed attempts at biometrics the student will be locked out of the course and need to register to retake the course. If you are excluded from the course, we as the sponsor may choose to waive the course fee and allow you to enroll in the course again to retake from the beginning.

The 3rd way to validate is by security questions. You will need to only provide answers to 10 questions that you choose. After three (3) failed attempts, the student will be locked out of the course and needs to register to retake the course.

The 4th authentication method is course content questions. These are questions aimed at determining students' participation.

If a student fails to authenticate, they will be locked out and be required to go through the authentication process again. Although this can be frustrating for you, this is a New York State DMV requirement to complete this course. Additionally, this also prevents you from letting the clock run down and if you are not actively participating, you will automatically be logged out after 20 minutes and you will receive an email that will remind you that you will have to log back in to continue.

STUDENT AFFIRMATION

You agree that you, and only YOU, will study the material and answer the quiz questions at the end of each module. It is illegal to circumvent this online State-approved course or to provide false information.

REFUND POLICIES

If you have not taken any of the quizzes, or did not have a certificate mailed to you, you may cancel the course and request a refund. All requests must be made in writing from the email that was registered to take the course. Please send request to: info@defensivedriversdiscount.com.
